Our Community
At Calrossy Anglican School, we believe a sense of community responsibility includes taking an active role both within the life of the school, and in the wider community. A concern for the welfare of others is an essential aspect of the developing character of a young man. Students are encouraged to look beyond themselves and to seek opportunities to serve and to give back to the community. In serving others, students not only learn valuable life skills, but gain confidence in their own ability to effect positive change.
In addition to supporting various appeals throughout the year, all students undertake a period of community service at the end of each school year. This may involve such activities as cleaning up the local environment and helping local community organisations.
P & F
Parents are encouraged to see themselves as members of the school community, and to work in partnership with staff in the provision of their son’s education. An active group of parents meets monthly in the school library to discuss school affairs and to organise social and fundraising functions. P & F meetings enable parents to keep abreast of what is happening in the school, and to provide a positive contribution to the school community. It also provides the opportunity to meet other parents and to be involved in social activities.
Our fortnightly newsletter, ‘The William Tell’ keeps families and friends of the school informed of the many activities at William Cowper Campus. For the most recent copy, and other current interest articles, please visit the page entitled “Our News”.
